Today marks 10 years since the passing of Marion Barry, D.C.‘s iconic “Mayor for Life,” who served four mayoral terms and decades on the city council. A civil rights leader and the first chairman of SNCC, Barry’s work uplifted Black communities, helping to shape D.C. as “Chocolate City.”
